Hello all.
In 2000 I worked for myself and created a logo. I never got the logo trademarked (registered). A year later I got a business partner and we created an LLC (in the U.S.) and an INC. purchase prescription drugs (in another country)… I am now the vice president of the company and my partner is the Pres… I think my business partner is no good and I want to start over but the problem is that the company uses my logo design still. It was never trademarked. If I goto a trademark lawyer and register the LOGO for both the other country and the U.S. … can I wait for them to use my logo some more times and then GET THEM for copy infriegment ??? Please I want to get them (like give me some comps) and keep my LOGO… I basicly want to leave the company and sew them at a later date.. can I do all of that if I get the logo trademarked under my name now…??? or am I doing something that will not do anything for me and It will just waste my money??? Any advice on this please let me know
I went to the U.S. goverments main patent and trademark site and they have a search engine in which you can type in keywords (such as potato peeler) and it will give a list of patents relating to that topic from 1790 to now or so it says, so if its that easy then why do I always hear you have to hire a lawyer or someone who knows what they’re doing to do an patent search?
