It costs $275 and you don’t need an attorney. I’ve filed for a couple of trademarks and it requires some work, but you can do it yourself. Just go to http://www.uspto.gov/teas/index.html and click on “Apply for a NEW mark.” Before you apply, you should run a search (see link below) to see if your trademark is original.
